Miss N is our baby doll
February 2012: The Month of Baby Acne |
Miss N is our little princess.
Everyone loves her...she gets all kinds of attention from her big brothers! They shower her with hugs and kisses, cover her with soft blankets, and sing songs when she isn't happy. Her brothers sometimes want to sit in her bouncy seat with her, and sometimes swing her very high in her swing. One day I found a little toy train car had been placed carefully by her head while she was napping. She is well taken care of by "her boys".

2 months old Noelle Lucia {baby acne cure? breastmilk used as lotion} |
At her two month pediatrician visit, the doctor asked me if I had any questions. I replied: "well, I did from week three until about last week--but now I've got those questions figured out."
Her colic symptoms are almost completely gone (breathe sigh of relief!) and she is a much happier baby now (happy Mama!). She sleeps fantastically (6-8 hours straight at night), takes great solid naps, and only cries when she is hungry or the occasional gas pain. She still stays up pretty late (she was on the 1am bedtime schedule for so long from the weeks of nighttime crying), but we are easing her into an earlier bedtime schedule (last night was 11:30pm--awesome!). She still doesn't LOVE the pacifier, but we finally found one she doesn't gag on (thank goodness!).
In the end, what solved her gas problems was: altering her milk intake (adjusting the amount I was producing by block nursing and adjusting over several weeks time, keeping a detailed log, etc) and changing my diet. I am now dairy free and chocolate free. I had no idea how much I really love chocolate and how much dairy is in e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g!
We are so grateful to have found the right answers for her. She is a completely different baby!
She is growing fast.
13 lbs at her 2 mo. visit
Miss N is too big for some of her 0-3 month clothes, I will have to get out the 3-6 month batch in the next couple of weeks. I am loving the assortment of bows, flowers, pinks, purples, hearts, polka dots, tulle, ruffles, and lace.
Miss N is happy when she is fed, being held,
and has a new dry diaper.
Of course, she's not smiling ALL the time.
As her big brother said the other day:
"She is crying to tell us something..."
I am cherishing my time with this sweet girl. She gives AMAZING smiles these days, throws her little hand up on my chest/neck when I'm nursing her, and gazes into my eyes when I sing to her. She turns her head when we call her name (love!), lifts her head when you hold her (or during tummy time), and has super strong legs--supports her weight when we hold her up on our laps, & she kicks me when we're cuddling in bed!
Also: she rolled over from her tummy to her back this week!
I look forward to discovering her unique personality that she will be showing us more and more as she gets older--but I am loving the sweet calm of the new baby stages.
She has brought such a sweet joy to our family.
We love our Miss N!

I love that last picture. So beautiful. Breast milk as lotion, huh? Where did you hear that? I HATE the baby acne stage. And cradle crap. Both suck.
