Trevor & I gleefully celebrated
10 years at the end of August
(doesn't 10 seem so BIG!?)
Not with a beachside trip, as we had planned earlier in the year
(remember the basement flood? Yup--that sucked our vacation plans right down the drain)
Not with a romantic date, as we had planned that month
(my handsome Mr. was writhing in pain that week--from his large & ridiculous kidney stone that required not one but TWO surgeries)
BUT with a recognition of our blessings, our challenges, and the truth that no matter what--it's not the fluffy things that matter, but that we are doing this thing.
Hard things, easy things, daily things--we are doing them--together.
So we had a simple dinner on the deck with our kids and called it good (not long after, a dear friend watched the kids so we could go on a lunch date--it was fabulous--he took me to Aculpoco!)
This guy.
I love him. I love his hard working energy, his love for our children, and the ways he makes my dreams come true.
Honestly. I am the luckiest.
I never felt so beautiful. August 27th, 2004. Nashville, TN temple. |
This is one of my favorites from our Opryland photo shoot (after our sealing at the Nashville TN temple)...notice he's carrying my shoes? |
I am incredibly grateful for the 10 years of adventures and the ways they have changed and molded us into who we are today!
