Our little guy: N @ 19mo. |
N's schedule at 19 months (March 2012)
N wakes up anytime between 9am-10:30am
He squeals to us from his downstairs sleeping perch (a pack 'n play in the downstairs rarely used bathroom) that he is awake and ready to begin the day.
He joins his brother upstairs (carried by his Mama who is smothering him in morning kisses) for a quick diaper change and a warm breakfast of oatmeal with applesauce. He prefers to feed himself, although this does extend the breakfast routine since there is quite a bit of cleanup. N doesn't seem to mind, though.
N follows J around and on preschool days at our house--loves to watch the 'big kids' doing their projects. Sometimes N will have a color page too and be just like them!
The rest of the morning/early afternoon is spent with books, puzzles, being chased/chasing big brother, and sipping water from his sippy cup (he would also prefer to have a 'real' cup--this is given when he is carefully monitored for spills).
He has a long afternoon nap (back downstairs in his sleeping perch--or sometimes in the crib in Daddy's office if Daddy is not home working) and then joins us for more fun during the evening.
N loves to drive the little car in the grass outside and be pushed in the red baby swing on our swingset. He laughs if you pretend that his feet are kicking you when he swings your way. He goes with the flow--enjoys outings as well as staying in--he just wants to be where the action is.
On Saturdays, N lets us all sleep in (yay!) and likes to chase Daddy when he vacuums the carpets. Also he likes to watch Daddy mow the grass from atop the upstairs deck "viewing balcony".
On Sundays he gets dressed up just like big brother & Daddy--white shirt and tie (Daddy gets the boys dressed in the morning). Church starts at 11am so it's a challenging 3 hours for a 19 month old. He still isn't confident about his nursery class, so Mama sits in the class with him for about 10 minutes before escaping (usually leaving N with some crying before he discovers something to steal his attention). By the time we get home from Church, he is so tired!
We love to snuggle with N when he is tired--he likes to rock in the rocking recliner. He says "gockey gockey" (rocky, rocky) when he wants to rock. He will cuddle with his special blue blanket and lay his head on your chest--sweetest moments ever.
We love our sweet 19 month old N!
