All of the rooms in this house are recently painted (a nice upgrade from our last place which had the flat white builders paint on EVERY wall in EVERY room. One of the few things we WON'T miss about that place, although it did always feel nice & bright!). Most of them are great colors...gray in the bathrooms, tan in the main rooms upstairs, white trim, etc. We don't really like the dark green in the downstairs den/playroom but we can stand it.
What I couldn't stand was the TOO BRIGHT/DARK blue in the boys room. You would think it would be no big deal...and kind of perfect, BLUE for the boys room, right? The room is just too small for such a deep/dark color. It was driving me nuts!
So...while Granddaddy was in town, he offered to tackle the re-painting project:
I chose "soothing chamomile" from the WM brand paints. My goal was a very light buttery yellow color. We chose semi-gloss which we realize now was more gloss than we thought, but still great for a kids room.
When we moved here, J graduated from the crib & onto the guest bed. We really had no other space for it so we didn't have much of a choice. His dinosaur bedding looks AWESOME with the soft yellow walls...honestly--the new paint color TRANSFORMED the room. We absolutely love it! Special thanks to Granddaddy for the hard work to make it happen.
