Garden Variety

We started when J was a baby, making our own baby food.

Now that N is a full participant in solid food eating
(including the fun messes)
...

We have to make sure to stay on top of our baby food production!

Usually Trevor does the work, but this month has been so crazy, I spent an evening & the next morning building up our supply. I had a few requests from friends for instructions.
Super easy--here ya go:

There ya go! It's really not that hard--you save $ and give your baby some awesomely fresh food (and you can give them a wider variety than the Gerber classics). We do buy store-packaged baby food for trips & such, but mostly stick with our homemade cubes. Try it out!!

Also on my June homemade list:
BREAD.

This is the recipe my Mom introduced me to when she was in town for a visit. This is the website for "Artisan Bread in 5 Min/Day"

It's fantastic. Not too complicated, only 4 ingredients, and do-able for bread novices like myself.
Yes, I've got my dough in a plastic shoebox shaped container.

Also on my homemade list for the month...visiting teaching* handouts.

I have to admit, I love a good handout with my visits. I don't have time to come up with the creative & fun things that I used to do...but I found THIS GIRL who does it for you! Every month she comes up with & shares something brilliant that matches the monthly message. You can print it off & use her ideas for free. Love it.

*Within our Church organization of women, we each are assigned to visit other ladies every month. We share a short, inspirational message with them and help when they have things that we can help with. It is an amazing way to help everyone 1) have an automatic set of friends, 2) have their needs known & helped, 3) stay connected. I love it!

Also...I can't help but post this photo.
These two have SO MUCH FUN cuddling.
Seriously.

Don't be fooled by N's "I'm so beyond this" look.
He loves it.

Daddy does too.

I've been thinking about trying the homemade baby food this time---doesn't look as complicated as I had previously thought and your post confirms this. Thanks! :)
