Baby N: 6 months

Our baby boy is growing.
And fast.
Like, lightening fast.
It's now been 6 months since he joined our little family.
That's half of a year, you know.
Fast.

Baby N Stats:
weight: 18 lbs
eyes: blue (hints of green?)
hair: not much
smiles: often
Baby N continues to add light to our family.
In the morning, as soon as J wakes up, he asks "where's Naydthem?"
And then when I tell him where he is, he replies: "Wanna see Naydthem pweese"

While Baby N had a rough couple of months between adjusting after our holiday trips, growth spurts, and a miserable virus--he is finally falling back into his good sleeping habits. Last night he slept for 11 hours straight!

He is still nursing full time (no solids yet) and gets around the house pretty efficiently if he is given the opportunity to play on the floor. He scoots backwards, mostly, on all fours. He hasn't figured out how to go forward but can magically twist in circles to his delight. He loves the baby toys we have available for him but which toys do you think he is more interested in?

Big brother's toys.
J is learning more about the word "share".

I was reviewing my blogs about J when he was 6 months old and noticed that J was sitting up on his own before he started scooting as much as N is doing at this point.
Interesting switch in stage milestones, eh?

Baby N doesn't sit up on his own.
He really doesn't even like the bumbo seat--throwing himself backwards if he is sitting in it for more than a few minutes (plus, his chunky legs make it uncomfortable for him).
He loves to hold your hands and stand up, though.

AND still...
loves.to.be.held.
(insert happy Mama waving around her ergo baby carrier--life changing!)

Most toys end up flung on the floor,
and then he spends some time looking for it--how did it get over there?
Hilarious.

Everything goes to his mouth, but no teeth are showing up yet (nice!).
He's slobbery, chubby, warm, & cuddly.

It's like his face is a magnet for kisses.
Honestly.

Like his brother did, he gets to be the guest of honor at gatherings where Mama goes & needs to stay more than a few hours (Church meetings, parties, gatherings, errands, etc), but I don't mind. In fact, I love that my babies don't take bottles (and I could be causing that dislike since I don't offer it to them until around 4 months), I cherish the time holding them throughout the day.

I watch N's eyes focus in on me, I brush his eyebrows with my finger tips and I cradle his soft skin close to me. I sing to him, I hum to him, I tell him how much I love him while I tickle his toes. I tell him about what an exciting life he has ahead and I read books to him with his brother by our side. We are having a blast, me & my boys.

He's a happy baby.
Except when he's not:

This is our 6 month old.
Mr. N

precious. I do think he and J have something in common. They are uncommonly cute.

Beautiful post, I loved reading it. Beautiful baby too! Made me a little sad near the end though b/c I had trouble nursing this time around and had to go to the bottle. Never thought that would happen to me after exclusively nursing the first 2 :(
