More Baby N

Daddy Trevor gets to go hang out with Baby N whenever he wants to.

Can we all say together: LUCKY!

Every time Trevor goes back up there I request more photos. "More of his face, please." "Can you get a few more of his toes?" I am just trying to drink in his cuteness, one digital image at a time.

I have a 12 hour major-gut-surgery confinement that is holding me down from rushing up there to lullaby, cuddle, rock, & nurse this little one. Only a couple more hours left, though...and then I can stare into this face:

And...we have great news: he is off the oxygen tubes! Now they are monitoring & keeping him on the IV for awhile longer...not sure what the game plan is, but he is improving every hour, so I'm hoping he can room with us tonight!
Poor little guy has little marks/rashes on his face from where the tubes were taped on his cheeks. I bet he's so glad they're gone!
I canNOT wait to meet him!!
And kiss that darling nose!
And lips!
And cheeks! And CHIN!

BAH!!!...I can't believe I still haven't held my baby yet!!

*sigh*

Soon. Soon. Soon.

Congratulations Shara,Trevor and Jackson! I love baby Nathan's whole name and I must say, he was a BIG baby Shara! Where on earth was he hiding though??? You're last tummy shots didn't look big at all! I'm happy to see he's here, though I'm sure you're probably a little troubled because the delivery wasn't what you were hoping for (by the way, go you! 12 hours of natural labor! that's intense) and I'm sure neither of you expected he'd have to stay in the NICU immediately following the birth... don't worry though, he's in good hands with all those nurses and doctors watching over him. Trust me, and I say this from experience, while it's hard being apart from him, it's much better that the doctors keep a close eye on him NOW before you take him home, so you don't take him home and have any unexpected emergencies in which you have to bring him back into the hospital. I know it's difficult not getting a chance to hold him right away, it can really be an emotional roller coaster while waiting and waiting for the chance to get to, but during this time just get some rest. You just went thru some major labor! And by the way, we women never really think about the reason the process is called "labor" but I'm sure now that you've just experienced it you can testify, it is LABOR! Probably the hardest thing you will ever do in your entire life. I'm so happy you made the decision you did to have a c-section; I know it wasn't what you had wanted originally, but in all honesty, it doesn't matter HOW little Nathan comes into this world, all that really matters is that he made it. I've spoken with a few doctors and a few nurses before in the past who have told me they've seen a few mothers and mid wives so set on delivering a baby naturally, they ultimately loose the baby. That would really be a heavy loss knowing that it could have been prevented. I'm grateful that you were selfless enough to forgo your original plan and do what was best for Nathan. My prayers are with you and your family at this time; get some rest and hopefully you can have peace in mind knowing that the little guy is in good hands. Congrats again! He looks beautiful!

So excited for you all! Congratulations. Lucky Trevor! Not so lucky for you not getting to be with your baby, but what an amazing wonderful experience for daddy to bond with him. Not many men get time like that with their newborn. Nathan is adorable - no skinny newborn chicken legs for that little man! Hope you are recovering nicely. Doesn't matter how they get here, just that he's here and doing well. We love you all! Hoping and praying for a speedy quick recovery for everyone and that Jackson (and mommy too I guess:))get to meet his bro soon.

Oh, Shara, that's gotta be so hard! I'm feeling for ya. The good news is that late babies tend to be healthier because they are already so chunky. My late babe (Enoch) was my least sick and best sleeper. Hopefully little Nathanael will follow suit! :)

go have fun feeding him...! I have had a big day with Jackson. That kid wore me out! He is such a cute hoot. I haven't mentioned anything about any of you and he hasn't either...I didn't want him to get sad on me, and he seems quite content as it is.
Like...I faced his highchair to the sliding glass door and he was watching the moon and the airplanes while he ate. Maybe that helped him not notice he was eating carrots in his rice/lentils/applesauce meal. And yes, he had his condiments. The boy loves him some mustard. He asked for corn on his way to bed. He will do anything to prolong that walk. But I stuck to the plan. You are a good mom and you trained me well. LOL

I think I see Jackson's lips and chin but maybe some Ben up top? Jackson's feet!
