Next-to-Last Monday in May: An Official Update

Greeting you this next-to-last Monday in May,

I present the above shot of our fine feathered friend,

Mama Robin.

She's finished her nest & is as rockin' as any robin I've ever met...
we'll keep you posted on her family's progress: Exciting!

And as she settles into her corner nest,

I am chuckling at the irony

-Now that J recognizes our apartment and says "home, home!"

-Now that I have found a girl in which I completely trust my hair cutting needs

-Now that I have an appointment to meet with a doula who's credentials seem perfect for the VBAC advocacy I am desperately searching for

-Now that I have committed to a more consistent teaching schedule with the girls at Church

-Now that we have completely re-arranged 2 rooms and the closets in our apartment

-Now that we have been in central Wisconsin for a full year

...

...

...

-Now that my little row of pansies are thriving...

We have received our transfer offer--
and Trevor accepted it this morning!

We will be rushing around for the next several weeks as we prepare to leave our Wisconsin home to settle in a new nest for our growing family in...
CHICAGO!

Actually, we are looking for housing in the suburb areas around the city--with plans to be down there around the end of June/first of July.

For those of you curious--TODAY (this next-to-last-Monday in May) also marks my 29 week mark with Mr. Peanut--here's a belly shot from this morning:

...which means we'll be settling into our new corner of the world around week 34 of this pregnancy! (Any tips or tricks from you veteran Mamas who have made 3rd trimester moves would be greatly appreciated!)

Hold on tight--this is going to be one rockin' summer!

Wow, what exciting news! Congrats to you guys! I've heard great things about Chicago. So, are you guys supposed to be there long-term now? One of advantages to moving so far along in your pregnancy is that you might be more likely to find more doctors who support your decision to have a VBAC in a larger city. I haven't run into any opposition with my hope for a VBAC with this one down here. Now, if this baby will just cooperate with that decision.:) We'll see...

super exciting news! i'm happy for your family. my best advice (as we have moved w/ EVERY pregnancy except this last one) is sit back and let everyone else take care of it ;)

Wow, that IS exciting news! Any idea how long this stay is going to be? I am sure your ward will help you out with the move and get you loaded but make sure and contact your Chicago ward ahead of time so they can help you unload. That is the last thing you need to do while pregnant.

Whew, and then you have the joy of finding a proVBAC doctor out there!

That is even closer to us! We totally have to get together and if you need a place to rest in the for a little bit on your way down there we are right off the interstate. Good luck with everything. I have never moved while pregnant amazingly so I have no tips for you.

whoa CHICAGO?!!! man that is soo cool! You better believe I'm coming to visit you there. But I'll wait til you're not with child anymore, that way we can explore together?! Congrats on that. And let me know if you hear of any job offers there, cause I'd be ok with that.

Congrats Shara! Everything will work out, and like your friend above said...bigger city=more doctors that are willing to give you what you're looking for. I'm SO sad for you to leave but SO glad it's still within driving distance!! :)

WOW! The BIG city! Oh my. Congratulations! I'm sure with love and laughter you'll live through moving at the end of your pregnancy. Does J get any say in Peanut's name?
GOOD LUCK!
(PS - Doug has a seminar in Chicago this summer, so maybe I will truck up there with him and see you!)

Yay! I'm so happy you're finally getting your transfer. But oh, what timing! We have so thoroughly enjoyed your pictures and stories of Wisconsin, and we can't wait to learn about Chicago (and it's newest, soon-to-arrive resident).

Congratulations!

First off, congrats on one happy ending to your time in Wisconsin. It looks like you guys have really taken in the sights and lived the good life there!
A new adventure awaits in the Windy City!! I don't have any great advice for moving in the 3rd trimester. Never done it.
I suppose the best thing I can tell you is 'don't lift heavy stuff.'
There. Isn't that great advice?!

It seems like just yesterday that you announced your pregnancy! WOW does time fly! 34 weeks already?! That's crazy. You look as beautiful as ever!

You are so amazing - I'm sure you will do great with it all, just like everything else! Chicago will be fun, right??

I did move at 37 wks and it was CRAZY. But really, I worked so much more efficiently and most things were "settled" before baby came. Knowing there was a time constraint made me work quicker. And you will be tired for sure, but hang in there. :)

Good luck!

OH NO! What timing..Remember over the next days and weeks that in 5 years you will look back on this time with fond memories and a laugh. You WILL make it through. And accept all the help you can get!

Isn't that how it goes? Right when you finally feel settled, organized, and content, you get thrown a curve ball! That is very exciting news, and I am sure your mama appreciates that it is closer.
I have read about Trevor's mad packing skills, so I am sure you are covered there! We made a move when I was 32 weeks along with Gabe, and it went great. I did not have to deal with finding a doctor that would have no problem with doing a VBAC though. I just had to find a doctor that would take me that far along. They don't call back!! Hopefully you will have great luck in the move, packing, J's temperment, house hunting and doctor hunting!

Maybe now it is time to move on because you have everything figured out here. You've learned all the ins and outs, you've accomplished what you needed to. I am excited for your family, but we will miss you!

I moved when I was a little farther along than you when I was pregnant with Ian. My advice is to remember to drink lots of water so you don't get dehydrated and go into premature labor. It is easy to forget to drink when you are busy and working hard!
