20 months old,

02/14/2010-J hit his 20 month mark!

STATS:

-about 25 lbs.

-quickly growing out of 18 mo. clothes & into 24 mo. clothes

-needs to move up to size 5 shoes

-in size 4 diapers

-has 11 teeth

-sleeps 12 hrs/night (in crib) & has 1 (usually 2 hr) nap/day

FAVORITES:

-Reading "bok bok!" (books. his favorites: Wheels on The Bus, Personal Penguin, Colors & Shapes, Curious George, Winnie The Pooh flip books)

-Cuddling with his 2 favorite stuffed animals: "Wah-wee" (Ferret) & "Ya-ya" (Koala bear)

-Playing in *his cabinet* in the kitchen

-Transferring magnets from fridge to dishwasher & back again

-Snuggling with his Taggie blanket (but only for a minute or two)

-Riding his "hee-ho" (horsey) around the room

-Riding his "beep beep" (car) around the room

-Drawing on his "colors" (magna doodle)

-Doing the motions to songs: Wheels on the Bus, Popcorn Popping, Itsy Bitsy Spider

-Dancing to *anything* with a good beat

-Running around the house

-Dancing in circles, clapping to the music, family dance time

-Being wherever Mom & Dad are

-bathtime--the play part, anyway

-helping Mama put the laundry in the dryer

-getting to "buhsh" his teeth during & after bathtime

-Daddy coming home!

-*starting* to like nursery better...yesterday was his first Sunday to not cry!

-being tickled, fun kisses

-resting on Mom's shoulder in the morning after waking up--singing "Good Morning, Good Morning!"

-putting on his shoes (he's been doing this a lot lately, putting them on himself & walking around with only half his foot in the shoe!)

-chasing/being chased by Daddy around the house

-riding on Daddy's back

-pulling clothes out of his dresser drawers, putting them into piles on the floor

-calling both Mom & Dad "Mama"/"Mommy"/"Mom"

DISLIKES:
-Riding in the car when the sun gets in his eyes

-Eating dinner if he has seen "better food" like cheese, crackers, or fruit (we have to save these for last these days)

-Cuddling with Mom or Dad for more than a few seconds

-When the string on the magna-doodle is in the way of his creative drawings

-Falling in the kitchen (ouch!)

-The "washing" part of bathtime

-Having a messy diaper (he lets us know promptly by touching his diaper & saying "schew schew!")

-Being outside when the wind is blowing

-His favorite blankets (fuzzy blankets) to be washed

-Loud sounds of the neighbors going upstairs & the vacuum cleaner

FOOD:

He still eats most ANYTHING.

We keep him away from eggs (allergic)

He is feeding himself more, but we haven't relaxed enough to let him feed himself 100% yet...

His most favorites: peas, cheese, animal crackers, oatmeal, grapes, rice milk, blueberries, bananas, sweet potatoes, yogurt

His few dislikes: maple syrup, shredded chicken, pickles

Jackson is growing & learning so much, so fast.

He will proudly show you where his head, hair, nose, ears, eyes, teeth, tongue, mouth, chin, shoulders, elbows, hands, wrists, belly button, knees, feet, & toes are.

He is starting to get the counting thing... the other day I said "one..." and he said "two..."!

He loves for anyone to read him books & likes to point out the items in the pictures. He likes to read by himself as well.

He says new things every day, I am just trying to keep up with him! He runs around and has a very happy and easy going personality. He is loving & enjoys giving hugs & kisses. He doesn't get upset very often--if he does it is about food (his life passion) or he is way too tired to be awake.

Jackson is a pure joy and I feel so blessed to spend my days with him!

Little does he know, in 6 short months, he will be sharing our attention with a newborn!)
