The Boy in Blue & His Green Sled

There once was a boy
Who was bundled in blue
It was a snow day-- his Daddy said:
"Let's get out that sled!"
So the Daddy pulled the boy bundled in blue
in that green plastic sled...

All around the neighborhood, the Mama came too!
The boy bundled in blue laughed with delight,
he squealed with glee,
he held on with all of his might!

(Not really: check out his mitten-hands sticking straight out)
He smiled & he sighed,
He couldn't believe his eyes--

The snow piles were tall,
and the snow drifts were slanted...

He couldn't believe he got to play in it ALL!
The boy bundled in blue
Was laughing all day--
You probably would too!
But when his Daddy plopped him down in the fluff
He didn't even try to smile,
he screamed: "that's enough!"
Everyone's cheeks were getting quite red
A full day of sledding and smiles
for the boy bundled in blue and his green plastic sled.
Back to the homestead
where they all took warm baths & ate toasted bread
with hot tomato soup
YUM.

The End.
for today, anyway!

What a cute boy in blue with a green sled. What fun! I can't remember the last time I went sledding. There is just nothing like it. It made me cold just looking at your pictures though. My kids are sure to be jealous. They keep hearing from grandparents about the snow they get and they want some here. Jonathan thinks that snow comes with Christmas day (even though since we have lived here we have never had snow on Christmas Day). He is sure that it will come. I keep telling him not to get not to get to his hopes up. :)

And when I say publish, I mean as a Children's book not just on a blog.

that is hilarious with his little arms sticking straight out! We have snow here but not that much. How fun. While pushing the boys to the bus stop in their stroller- they tell me to drive over/through all of the snow drifts. Oh that white cold crunchy stuff!

We loved the Wisconsin Santa by the way. Too funny!

I loved this story. you are a great blogger. I feel like I am experiencing whatever you write about. I am so glad I get to be a little fly on your wall and enjoy your family happenings. Someday I hope we will meet each other.

Awesome! We (and when I say we - I mean the kids) are eagerly anticipating snow. We had a light dusting overnight (the west side of Michigan already has about 2 feet but it tends to head north rather than east) but they want the big time stuff....the stuff that causes 'Snow Days' and opportunities for sledding. I tell them to be patient...it will be here soon enough and by March they will be tired of it...Ha!

I am so cold this morning and there is not a flake in the sky. I don't enjoy the cold weather, but the snow looks lovely! What a cutie pie.

I can hear Trevor say that, that makes me laugh. I still feel sorry that he had to teach our youth Sunday school class (I believe this was during the time you were on a mission haha).

Too cute! This makes the winter look so good!

Nice to see your blog and to see that you too are enjoying the Wisconsin snow. Hooray for winter in Wisconsin!

Can J put his arms down? (That's how I feel once I get all bundled up to go outside.)
Merry Christmas!
