Thankful Feasting

Since we were just "home" in KY at the end of October and just spent a week "home" in WI the week before, we decided to hang around *home* for Thanksgiving this year.

Trevor was gone half of the week for work, but we were so ready to celebrate & enjoy some down time when he returned! We were invited to a friends' house for the feasting--and boy did we feast!

Turkey, stuffing, gravy, the-best-rolls-on-the-planet, corn, stuffed mushrooms, salad, cranberry goodness, mashed potatoes, and more...plus several pies. Strawberry rhubarb, banana cream, pumpkin, french silk, apple, and I'm pretty sure I'm leaving out a few.

The feasting was fantastic! The kids ate at their table and we switched off baby duty to eat at the 'big kid table'. We strengthened friendships and shared our thankful thoughts--it was wonderful.

And, after a busy afternoon of cooking & eating...what should be done?

GAMES, of course!

We played a game with lots of pennies & cards. Something to do with Michigan? I can't remember, but we had fun playing. The kids played games and pulled out probably all of the toys...J had fun with all of the other kids (12 kids total including our 2), and Baby N enjoyed some snuggle time with Daddy...

We are so grateful for a low key Thanksgiving weekend, for the feasting with friends (thanks A families!), and for the many blessings that we enjoy daily.

I'm so grateful for this beautiful country we have,
for this townhouse we are making home,
for our new Church family who have embraced us wholeheartedly,
for our families near & far
(and the ability to keep in such great contact via email, facebook, blogs, cell phones, & skyping!)
for our two beautiful boys,
for each other,
for the hard times & the sweetest times
and most of all--the living gospel of Jesus Christ.
