1 Week Old!

We are one week into this newborn adventure--Nathan has melted our hearts and we are adjusting to being a NEW family!
Since Trevor does some of his work from home, Nathan has already been able to help him out a bit with some of his contact phone calls this morning...
...and then we headed out for his first out-of-hospital dr. appointment. He got a lot of attention at the office and some great compliments from the dr. "Eating really well! Great reflexes! Impressive eye contact!"
When we got home we had lunch.
And then he was done processing his breakfast...and decided to celebrate his 1 week mark by MARKING me...including the white pants I had on...

(somehow the poop made it outside his diaper & outfit without touching his clothes, just splattering mine--how DOES this happen!?)
We are still working on the brother bonding time. The only reason Jackson was willing to get this close to Nathan was because we said "hey Jackson! Come look at this boondoon in Nathan's nose!"

So, mention some boogers, and the toddler is all in for some brother attention:
Otherwise, Jackson mostly keeps his distance. He does mention Nathan in his prayers and sometimes says things about the "beebee" but mostly does his own thing. The most dramatic difference is that his emotions are high and he freaks out about the smallest thing--this is probably a combination of the hype of the new baby plus Mommy & Daddy being gone for so many days.
One step at a time--they'll be best buds before we know it!

In the mean time, what grateful hearts we have for Baby Nathan joining our family a week ago TODAY!



P.S. Last night he was amazing--nursed at 10pm, 3am, and 7am. Let's all hope this is a schedule he wants to keep!

P.P.S. I can't stop kissing his soft skin and nibbling on his ears. And toes. YUM.
