I used to do monthly updates on all the children, but haven't in AGES.
I figure I probably won't do them again for awhile, I might as well get a snapshot of who these kids are, as we sit here on the cusp of change before baby #4 arrives!
Introducing...
3 year old
Miss N
We are all in love with this little girl. She wakes up with a smile & big hugs and reminds us how to giggle throughout the day. She is learning quickly from her older brothers--how to be brave & how to get what she wants! She is (currently) all of our favorite little girl...and will soon learn how to be a big sister!
I took this photo earlier today:

She calls them "bwothohs" and follows them into high adventure on a daily basis. When she's not interested in their brand of adventure...she does her own thing (she loves her "babies", books, and drawing in her notebook). When she doesn't want to follow brothers, OR do her own thing, she can be found BY MY SIDE. If I'm reading, she gets a book to read. If I'm sitting at the computer, she pulls up a chair beside me. If I'm napping...she finds a way to snuggle. If I'm in the bathroom...well...you get the picture.
When the brothers head outside to play, she follows right behind them. Daily, she gets herself completely dressed from head to toe (often including accessories, and impressively matching/coordinating 90% of the time!). For the winter/snow days outside time, she usually lasts until the hot cocoa is served and then comes in for the rest of the day. For the spring days we have been enjoying--she will stay as long as possible...sometimes even skipping naptime (which then means early bedtime! woot!)!
She is mastering her "big girl swing" as it sits in the middle of brothers' swings. AND SHE LOVES GOING "HIGHER!" As soon as Dad comes outside, her first request is "can you do an underdog, Daddy?" And of course, he is immediately at her side.
Miss N has a great advantage having 2 older brothers...she learns everything FASTER than they did with LESS intimidation (for most things!). She touches snakes at the zoo right beside them, explores creepy crawlies in the sand, and has recently mastered her very first "big girl bike"!
The first thing she says when we go outside is "Can I wide my bike?" If we are headed to the garage to get into the van to go somewhere, I say "not right now..." to which she quickly responds "Pweeease? Just ONE time??" And then she goes on a quick spin before we are off.
Miss N has started some letter recognition and wrote an "H" last night all by herself--which totally surprised me. All that following along with the preschool classes, perhaps?
She has a sweet mothering nature that plays out daily. Her favorite "baby" right now is a stuffed horse that she calls "baby Lyla" (after her cousin Lyla)--which she takes care of dutifully. She feeds her babies, bathes her babies, sings to them, puts them down for naps, and makes time to cuddle with them. I tell her often she is such a great little Mama. She is looking forward to being a helper when our new baby arrives.
She is totally potty trained and has been for several months now (WOOHOO!). She loves to snuggle with Daddy, dance with Daddy, and read books with Daddy...she *might* be a Daddy's girl...
She started PRIMARY this year which is huge.
She was JUST YESTERDAY my baby girl--you remember, right??

Miss N is one of my favorite people in the whole world. Being her mother is such a gift, and learning with her is a treasure. We are a happier family because of her influence, daily gifts of sweetness , and playful attitude. We love our Miss N!
