*SWISH*
(wiping off the dust on this ol' bloggity blog)
Not sure if anyone still reads it?
For years, I have absolutely LOVED the family story keeping/sharing/writing
of my blog keeping over the years. The posts are a treasure to me!
I have NOT loved that it has been difficult for me to keep up with, especially when a big trip throws me off my schedule and I feel like I can't catch up.
Guess what.

Mama & littles in Bell Buckle, Tennessee |
We just got back from a big trip.
And I am going to try really hard to not let that be one more thing to keep me from blogging regularly. *sigh* We'll see.
If you want a more instant/live feed be sure to follow me on Instagram and/or Facebook :)
What I really want to say right now is...
1. I love summer time & the sun-soaked outdoor play that encourages such magical childhood wonder...
2. I am grateful for the tender ways we are watched over--
which leads to 3.
During almost the entire month of JUNE
we were blessed to enjoy a delightfully wonderful trip down South
we jumped, ran, biked, fished, swam, sang, danced, explored, and experienced the magic of summer
together with cousins, friends, aunts, uncles, grandparents & great grands.
It was GRAND!
We even stopped in Nauvoo
(unplanned! we felt so adventurous!)
on our drive back home
(pushing our travels to 22 hours by the time we rolled into our driveway at 2am Tuesday)
We came home
to soggy carpet.
Our basement flooded --- all the rain Minnesota received, our cloggy drains, the extra snowmelt in the ground, and flat ground around our home.
We have been home for less than a week and have received several meals/treats, helps with childcare, and serious time/energy given to help us move furniture upstairs, clean out, and hours (sweaty!) WORK new grating around the house.
Insurance won't cover it. We payed a company to take out the carpet, pads, & baseboards (grateful the dry wall was able to be dried), and the entire lower floor was professional dried out. It was "level 3-blackwater", and the company got it out in 2 hours.
We have to clean it out, make a plan to prevent, and figure out how to refinish our previously finished, now unfinished basement. Trevor's office is relocated into the downstairs (dry!) bathroom. The rest is crazy.
We are in a whirl.
But we are grateful.
And.
We can do hard things.

This happened to use about five years ago. It was a hard thing, but like you got lots of help from the ward rebuilding our basement. We ended up putting in a sump pump, which has come in handy when we had a frozen pipe burst a few years ago. Hope all goes well with you your family.
