"Baby acne isn't pretty,
but it's common--
and temporary"
We still think
our little 5 week cupcake
is the prettiest of all!
Also, this Mama glad for the experience of 2 previous babies to actually know that it is, indeed, temporary. I remember being really concerned when the red spots appeared on J's perfect baby face! I'm glad to not feel the concern this time around.
Miss N is doing great, overall. She turns her head when she hears her Mama's voice and has given us several beautiful smiles. She charms every visitor and draws the attention of her brothers with every sigh, sneeze, hiccup, and squeal.
She is happy during *most* of the daytime hours and enjoys several naps (some more relaxing than others).
She eats consistently...and spits up consistently. :)
Her hardest hours are evening and night.
It's always a guessing game as to what kind of sleep we will get.
We are still trying to figure out solutions to her stomach pains. We have never experienced this with either of our boys, so we feel frustrated that we have no idea what we are doing!
We have received many wonderful tips from friends & family...

now to weed through them to find our answer!
We have tried 3 brands of 'gripe waters', every possible sleeping position/bouncer/swing/rocking option, extra burping, tummy massage, changing nursing positions, altered nursing schedule, & most recently started giving her probiotics. I do think milk overproduction has had something to do with it but have made significant changes and she is still having lots of restless gas pains.

We have an appointment with a new pediatrician tomorrow, looking forward to discussing her symptoms and the options/changes we can make to help her.

Ugh. I hated baby acne. Luckily it is temporary, but it sucks in the meantime. But yes, she's still beautiful. Also...have you tried going off dairy? I have friends that swear by this and said it made all the difference.
Hi Shara,
I have been following your little family since meeting and going to MSU with Trevor. I know everyone is giving their advice on what to do for the gas, as I am a first time mom, and you a supermom to 3 beautiful babies, you can take my sugesstion if you like. But I just found out that my little one is alergic to milk at 3 months which explains the extreme colid she had in the first 2 months of life, but about a month in I found this product called "Colif" it is only avaliable at CVS and you have to put 4 drops in each bottle. I know you are breast feeding and would have to give it to her some other way, but it was a miricle for me, it is the lactase enzyme and helps their little tummies digest the lactose in the milk. I loved it, but after many rashes and the such we had to go to Soy milk. I found that my peditrician did not even know it existed, and then switched peditiricans and they didn't know about it either. It is a new product and you can find a printiable coupon on their website and other places to purchase it there as well! I still have an unopend box with the seal still on if you would like for me to send it to you, I would love to do that if it would help! I would just need your address. You can e-mail me at heatherl.scott@gmail.com if you like!
You are a supermom and I look up to you through your blog so much, Keep on doing what your are doing! Your family is beautiful!
Heather
she IS the prettiest little cupcake! Love those first little smile, when the light go on.
I'm sorry about the tummy troubles. No bueno. It sounds like you've got lots of good advice already. The only thing I would suggest is a chiropractor. I have a few good friends that have had lots of success with infant adjustments. I know...little bit scary, but I thought I'd suggest it because I had never heard of it before, but have seen the good it can do.
Best wishes!!
