We made a paper chain to keep track of
how many days until Christmas.
It's hanging in our new family room downstairs...
...but we haven't yet taken any of the links off--ha!
It's a fun reminder, I think we'll start doing it this week.
I would have titled this post
"It's Beginning to LOOK A Lot Like Christmas"...
if this white stuff would fall more often:

Our 2nd snow in MN...3-4 inches, not BAD...but we're still excited for our first big drop! |
We realize that we will probably regret our impatience with the snow this winter...but seriously.
We're excited for some big snow piles!
We're anxious to build a seriously awesome snow man!
We're dreaming of sledding down our backyard hill!
...
And still, there's not much for accumulation in the 10 day forecast.
Here we are...in Minnesota...
dreaming of a white Christmas...
While we dream, we took a stroll around the
Mall of America:
The MOA is a great spot to get out of the house, stay out of the cold air (ok so we don't have much snow right now but we've got cold air!!), and enjoy the holiday cheer!
After a week of staying in (it was cold. and Mama wasn't feeling well), it was the perfect cabin fever fix! We played with legos at Lego Land, went up & down escalators, walked through the Nickelodeon-themed indoor theme park, cruised some stores, met an elf, ate some dinner, and watched some fish at the Rainforest Cafe Store.
Also to get into the Christmas spirit, I attended our Relief Society Christmas party (a hit by all accounts!) and this weekend we had our Church Christmas party (delicious food, fabulous program, fun sing-along, and Santa!)
These are all the pics we ended up with from the fun:
It's true--not one good photo with Santa.
J would not talk to him, tell him his name,
sit on his lap, or go near him.
He did take a candy cane, though.
We have our Christmas tree lights on every day, have been enjoying a variety of Christmas tunes, and are feeling grateful for this special season of love, hope, & joy!
