A handful of photo shoots...
Some much-needed girl time
(and I cashed in the Mother's Day spa certificate I had received...
talk about perfect timing...)
2 of my girls: B & S took me out for a night on the town...dinner, chocolate, chatter, baby gifts...it was WONDERFUL |
T was out of town for part of the month for his new job training. While my To Do list grew by the minute, (and I found out at the beginning MOVE WEEK about a serious mix up on dates that put me a day behind on EVERYTHING...YIKES!!)...my friends stepped up to help out--one by one--meals, babysitting, offering their homes, anything. I felt so loved and taken care of. I will always remember our time in IL with fondness...the friends we made here are amazing. I wish I had taken more photos with all my girl friends! I will never forget you ladies-of-fabulousness!
PACKING DAY...
We had to separate the stuff we wanted to use/take with us from the things to get packed (all of the things packed up would not get to us until a week later)
After packing day is loading day.
Again, I'm so thankful for great friends who helped with the boys. I had to be there to "supervise" both packing day (12 hours of packing) and loading day (8 hours of loading). Trevor was flying home from Florida on loading day, so he missed most of the fun. That night we enjoyed swimming at the local hotel that the company covered for us to stay in during the move & invited some friends to come splash with us! Trevor spent the evening cleaning and the boys & I stayed with the same friends for the night.
Exhausting, sad, & wonderful all at the same time.
After loading day...clean out the house, the fridge, last minute-to-do's...then...
DRIVING DAY
![]() |
Trevor drove the green car...yes he finished off the ice cream from our freezer while he drove. I drove the company car with the boys...notice J has a treat to start off the trip as well. :) |
The trip up to Minnesota was not bad, just a bit crazy.
NOPE.
J did fall asleep after about an hour (not too bad, really) but N stayed up 90% of the entire night. Trevor was amazing and drove around a few times in the middle of the night because I was too tired to move. N cried most of the time...we don't know what exactly what was going on but we're thinking teething had something to do with it. It was pretty miserable. I nursed him several times & he finally fell asleep about 4am. Talk about CRAZY.
And the next morning we met our leasing manager to sign off and get the keys to our new (rental) home!
