the tree stayed lit until dawn,
the babies slept in--not even a yawn!
Packages were opened quickly
Each parent had camera in hand
While he sat down, I clicked away on my stand.
The babe was content
with his colorful chew toy
while we listened to the "wows" from our big boy!
And Daddy with a Santa Claus hat
Glad to be together, no matter where we sat
(or who was in our lap!)
plastic vegetables & fruits,
some playhouse kitchen tools & a book of Blues Clues!
Getting two boys to look & smile
Wasn't worth waiting a long while
(so this is what we got)
and the paper packaging too--
not nearly as fun as the rug & a CHOO CHOO!
(train shown is from last Christmas, but he was sure the lines on the NEW rug were train tracks, not streets for cars)
We piled boxes, papers, and tags
And let the baby pick up the bags!
(Yes, he is trying his hardest to roll over. Yikes!)
It was our last lazy morning
All together as four
Before we pack our bags & walk out the door
New places to go, new gifts to give
Our families to visit,
A few more Christmases to live!
Though the gifts are quite fun
And the cookies are iced
May we always remember--the Lord Jesus Christ.
His birth & life we celebrate
His love we can spread
To all family, neighbor, & friend.
Christmas Wishes
From Our Door
To Yours.

Merry Christmas!!
ps. I almost got that rug for my kids this year. Maybe I'll get it for a birthday soon--it looks like it was a success!
I am glad you took the time to do this with your little family...it matters...and I love your poem...very sweet!
