Last Summer Fling

Ever feel like you have a monkey on your back?

We have started to use this little monkey "leash" quite often these days...
and J loves it so it's a win-win!

We headed over to Naperville recently to check out their downtown and river walk that we'd heard about. I was imagining a nice, low key stroll around. Well...we ended up right in the middle of the LAST FLING they were hosting.

It was our first outing as a FAMILY OF FOUR and we decided to check out the festivities. J did great walking along and helping us push Baby N in the stroller!

We spent a few minutes trying to figure out the streets and where we were, since it was our first time in Naperville.
Since the LAST FLING was going on, we thought it would be fun to take advantage of some of the rides...(J rode on a train AND an airplane!!! he was in heaven!!)

...J experienced his first ever FUNNEL CAKE.
yum.yum.yum.
Trevor was excited to check out the Oscar Mayer Weinermobile
It was a really fun day--even though it wasn't at all what we were expecting (we had no idea the carnival was going on).

Baby N did great--he slept in his stroller most of the time, I nursed him in public for the first time, and he had his first public blow out (thankfully I brought an extra outfit for him).

J had a blast, and he walked the whole time, which was pretty impressive.

We ate Chicago-style pizza and walked along the riverwalk...can't wait to go back when it's not so crazy to really check out downtown Naperville!

Baby N looks to me like he is growing in his RED hair. Is that true? Can you possibly get any more stares from strangers??? :)

@ Joy: His hair does have red hues, but inside it just looks light brown. Definitely not the shade that J's is...it will be interesting to see how it ends up after it falls out & grows back again...
