The final product included name piping, rope piping (buttercream frosting), a few star sprinkles, and the Boy Scout eagle pin design that I made earlier in the week with a new technique that I just learned: Color Flow.
The rope design is something I learned in my class just the other week as well:
And for a brighter view (outside light during the day vs. inside light during the night)...
The Eagle Court of Honor was tonight, for a great kid named Zane. His mother (also a dear friend) called last week after she found out her original cake-baker was not able to fulfill the order. I felt daring and said "sure!"
It was quite an experience working with sheet cakes, new piping techniques, and color flow: each for the FIRST TIME on an official CAKE ORDER. From the reviews I received tonight, I think it was a hit!
I've said it before but I must say it again--I couldn't do it all without Trevor's awesome support & help!
P.S. Jump over to my blog for the latest TODDLER TALE...

First official order??? So you have officially opened shop? That is great!!! The cake looks fantastic and I loved the cupcakes.
Hey - Uncle Dan and Aunt Mildred are coming into town this weekend...you should drive over and join them! (I know, I know...it's just wishful thinking....very very wishful)
Hope you are all doing well.
Miss you!
Wow! What a fantastic job! Wanna come do my boys in a few months? ; )
This was actually my 4th official cake order--but I worked with a lot of FIRSTS by doing it, so it felt a bit *crazy* at times while I was working on it!! It was tons of fun, though & now I know how to do it!!
I'm not advertising or doing anything too BUSINESS-y, just when someone asks I've been doing cakes for them.
For now...

This was absolutely amazing AGAIN. I think I may need to place another order :)
Amazing!
WOW! Looks great! Be grateful for a laid back little toddler.
Wow-eee! If you keep this up, you're gonna need a separate blog just for your cake pics!!
