5 stars for 5 years

Though I paid tribute to our five years of marriage last week (HERE and HERE), I did not yet have photos to add to the celebration.

I submit to you: Anniversary 2009:

So, with my family in town, I decided to up the ante with my *creative plans* for our anniversary. My Dad helped me formulate the route and stops and I invented 10 detailed clues (including tidbits coordinating with each year since the year we met), and by the time Trevor got off work it was all set up: A SCAVENGER HUNT.

He found his first clue in his car--
--which lead him to a local replica of a train depot--
----which then lead him home (with the opportunity to change clothes, etc)---
------which lead him to the garage---
----which then lead him to the mail box---
--which lead him to the very small local airport---
------which then lead him to a certain table at a park on an island----
----which took him to a certain book in the library---
---which then lead him to the SWEET SHOP...
...where I was waiting with the last 2 clues!
--
At the chocolate shop we purchased & enjoyed a delectable little ice cream-shaped truffle, he told me all about his adventures, and then we went to the very last stop on the 'hunt'--our dinner reservations across the street!
We ate outside, it was DELICIOUS & romantic...all of it! Trevor had a great time on his 'scavenger hunt' and glad to have his 'prize' (ME!) --and we were grateful to have free babysitters for the night (Thanks, Grandmama & Granddaddy!).

When we got home we had a ceremonial 'cutting of the cake' (the tiered wedding cake I had made for my final cake decorating class)--just like at our wedding reception--

Just for fun.
Because we can.
And, because, we are admittedly cheesy.

And we like it that way!

Very cute idea - how fun!

And can I say how much I love Moonstruck Chocolates. They are an Oregon based company (Dan's family is from Oregon) and I found them in the Portland airport years ago on one of our many trips out there. I was ecstatic when a few years ago, the opened a store near us. But sadly, other Michiganders must not appreciate the wonderfullness of it as much as I did and it closed recently. Guess I just have to go out to Oregon again (or Wisconsin!)

I always dream of doing cute things like you for anniversaries and such. I guess I have a couple of ideas but I need the kids to be older. Or have a babysitter. Hmmm. Yes, that will do.

Why say cheesy? Why not just call it romantic, because that's really what it is. Super romantic. Shara gets best wife award.
