Cake Decorating II

Wilton Cake Decorating Course 1
Class 4
(& makeup for class 3 that I missed while we were in Chicago)

I still have alot of perfecting to do on my roses...but these are my first 4 completed Wilton roses!
The cake was supposed to have more, but I ran out of patience & time.

I gave this triple layer (with raspberry jam in between) cake to our friends Charity & Todd for their anniversary.

WOW! I can't believe you made those roses. I would love to learn how to decorate cakes. My mom has a natural talent for cake decorating but never passed it on to me. I love the roses, but that double layer cake with raspberry jam looks so GOOD! I have a great idea Shara- why don't you open up a gluten free bakery??? You'll make a fortune!

Thank you!! Seriously, they weren't the best in the class & I have a LOT of practicing to do, but it was amazing to watch them take shape!

Ari and I are looking to take a class about fondant. We have both become huge fans of Ace of Cakes and have decided to tackle fondant and make her birthday cake together. Ok, so bday is in December..... better start that class pretty soon - we have alot to learn!

Awesome decorating job!!

Jen: You & Ari will do a great job! We don't get the food network, otherwise I'd be watching that show also!! I will be learning about fondant soon. What kind of cake are you planning?

And thanks for your support & enthusiasm, Mom!! :)

Haven't decided on the type of cake yet - probably need to see what our 'limitations', strengths and weaknesses are after taking the decorating classes - ha!

I took that class also! Mostly to enjoy cakes more! It always tastes better with flowers on top.
